Nobody Knows present their 12th album ‘Drei Minuten Gehör’ which is dedicated to the timeless work of Kurt Tucholsky. The compositions of Max Heckel compliment classics like ‘Augen in der Großstadt’, which was released as a single, as well as ‘Muttern’s Hände‘ and ’Wenn die Igel in der Abendstunde‘ but also lesser known lyrics such as ’Wahre Liebe‘, ’An das Publikum‘ and ’Der Graben'. The album was created in co-operation with theatre actor and singer Bernd Marquard who recites lyrics in his very own style, which were then musically accompanied by the musicians of Nobody Knows. The record shows in 22 tracks how comprehensive, timeless and admonishing the work of one of the greatest authors of the Weimar Republic is to this day: Entertainment between high class, dreaming and remembering. |
After ten albums, four single releases, two music videos and one dvd production Nobody Knows finally took a chance and present their first album to be entirely penned by themselves, ‘Kleinstadtrhapsodien’. In doing so the self-proclaimed unknown received support from Mohi Buschendorf in the recording studio ‘Waldhausstudio’. With this release the quintet remains true to itself and still submits to stylistic change as its distinct trademark. Thus there not only is a fantastic catchy tune in the form of ‘Po’ about the pleasantness of optical joys, but also rap elements in ‘Stay Folk!’, german country in ‘Fieber’ and folk influences in with ‘Fünfter Streich’ on this disc including 13 tracks. So still long live diversity, German-speaking profoundness and nonsense and dance music for dreaming! |
There are countless albums that represent themselves as a homage to Christmas. That doesn't set ‘Morgen, Kinder, und übermorgen auch’ apart from the usual productions. Regardless, Nobody Knows enter uncharted territory because they illustrate the holidays musically and lyrically in such a way, how they really happen year after year: A feast with arguments and reconciliation, evenings with a charred roast and too few snow. And despite all that the magic of the little details dwells upon everything – and thus this album is in small what Christmas represents in large: A reason to pause, listen closely and pet each others bellies. |
Four years passed since the release of ‘Freistunde’ until a new lyrical compact disc made its way into the discography of Nobody Knows. But this time it’s a double album. Thus, the songs of the first lyric album resonate like old audio tape, whilst the second record holds ready symphonic reinterpretations of old songs and fond hits, but also never before heard scorings. So we hope that, whilst listening, the gracious auditor will say to the moment: ‘Stay a while, you are so beautiful!’ |
The time has finally come: Nobody Knows present their style mix with ‘folKing around’ in a proper live atmosphere. In between well-known tunes new songs from the genre of country as well as reinterpretations of famous pop make their debut. Hence Nobody Knows mark another stylistic jump and capture the world of Cash and company. So turn up the sound ant remember the last gig and shake a leg! |
In almost nine years Nobody Knows has already published five CDs. The first one is no longer available, the second as well as the third one are released in their third edition. The lyric albums also made public as second editions. After three years of abstinence our fourth folk album is released and all it wants you to do is this: Turn up your hi-fi unit, open the windows and folk with us! ‘we folk You’ presents a cocktail of the most different styles of folk and world music. The listener can enjoy a potpourri of Irish, Russian and even Italian and Spanish elements. |
The ‘Freistunde – Eine Zugabe von Nobody Knows’ (Free period – An Extra of Nobody Knows) continues the success of ‘Im Anzug’ (In a suit/tuxedo). Because of the truly great feedback of the ballad-like calm program Nobody Knows has locked themselves in a studio for the following two months to work ambitiously on a new album at the weekends, and an extraordinary new CD came into being combining classics like Fontane, Heine and Trakl with students’ texts of the Winckelmann high school's writing club in Stendal. On the occasion of this special event this CD is only available with the book ‘Freistunde’ (Free period). The product has an artistic and lyrical charm where the boundaries between the classical writers and students seem to be lifted. If you like ‘Im Anzug’, you will love this CD! |
The best album so far was produced after a longer break. Elements of rock, international influences and own compositions spice up these 16 different songs of the band's third CD. What can be listened to are (Old) High German, English and Yiddish texts. Overall, ‘New ways/roads’ is by far faster, more explicit and amusing than its forerunner. Folks, when you listen to this song potpourri, you will forget the world for an hour. |
