‘Es wird …’ was our name for the first book of the writers circle from Winckelmann-Gymnasium, our local school from Stendal. Today the circle is known by just that name. What happened between late autumn 2006 when the book was published and winter 2007 when it premiered? The circle grew: in personnel and in its opportunities. Meanwhile it's not as easy any more to give one's best attention that he/she deserves to each member. In exchange a completely new dynamic evolved: Not only having the critical debate, enhancement and rewriting, but also working in small groups in the afternoons, independently meeting at home. Circle work without the circle leader. Young people (ranging from 5th-graders to graduates, now students in college) confidently take the opportunity to ‘create’ in their own time while they deal with it with writing.

In the summer of 2007 there was a literate-musical evening with the title ‘Wie es ist – wie es wird’ (how it was – how it will be). The writing circle performed together with the Stendal band ‘Nobody Knows’ in the hall of Winckelmann-Gymnasium. The circle presented its new and ‘old’ members and their texts, ‘Nobody Knows’ played Songs from their album ‘Im Anzug’. The event was a great success. That led Max Heckel to the idea to add an audio record to the coming book of the circle: Musical versions of texts from the circle and the works of some of the world's famous poets.

Now we present the result of a year's work and send it out into the world, as big or small as it may be and may be reached by us. Maybe the book and the CD will give you a free time in one of the many possible ways.

The circle wants to thank the Winckelmann-Gymnasium of Stendal for enabling the circle work and the funding club of the Winckelmann-Gymnasium for the generous and uncomplicated financial help. Additional thanks for financial boost goes out to Kreissparkasse Stendal and the company ‘Hansa Büroorganisation & Datensysteme GmbH’ Stendal. It was new for us to work with a publisher. The co-operation with the BK-Verlag worked quite great.

Last but not least I want to thank Ronny, Max, Juliane and Beatrice for their intensive collaboration. We achieved something quite extraordinary.
